Gaye Goodman is the owner of Faux Real, a concrete staining company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since 1995, Gaye has stained floors in homes of all kinds from multi-million dollar mansions to more humble homes. Her floors have been part of a number of award winning home interiors.
She has also stained a wide variety of commercial projects including offices, restaurants, major sports complexes, retail stores, museums, as well as schools and other public buildings. She has done work from New York to San Diego and she is always ready to take on major projects anywhere in the country.
One of the industry's true innovators, Gaye is always exploring new creative opportunities to transform concrete slabs into stunning expressions that are in total harmony with the space.
Gaye is the most widely published industry expert, having provided thousands of homeowners, commercial property owners, developers, architects, and contractors with the information they need to create masterpiece stained floors whether they are doing the work themselves or by hiring and intelligently managing a staining crew.
Gaye's staining work focuses on projects with creative and artistic opportunities including corporate logos, maps, and unusual requests. She also continues to consult with commercial property owners, homeowners, architects, contractors, interior designers and other commercial stainers around the world to help them get "wow" results from their staining projects.
Gaye has a BA in Psychology from Swarthmore College and while on a break from graduate work in anthropology at UCLA, she journeyed to San Miguel d'Allende in central Mexico where she spent a summer studying art. It was an immediate love and Gaye left graduate school to pursue painting full time. Her twenty-five years of art training and practice gives her a unique perspective and skill set in understanding how to create the most beautiful and harmonious floor and translate the building owner's vision into reality.
Gaye is also sought after as a consultant from stainers around the world. Her workshops have drawn participants from countries as distant as Australia and New Zealand. Gaye can be reached at gaye@gayegoodman.com.
